Level 60 Druid Gearing in WoW: Forever — Stat Priorities for Bear, Cat, Balance & Resto, Wildheart Set & Pre-Raid Plan Before Dec 9

Our other Druid guides take you from 10 to 60: the starter guide, Bear tanking, Feral, Balance and Restoration. This one covers what happens after you hit 60: which stats each Druid role should gear for, and how to plan pre-raid gear before the first raids open.

Key dates (Blizzard): name reservation and early character creation open Tuesday, Oct 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (up to three characters, for upgrade owners). Launch is Nov 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST. Barrow Deeps (10 players), Hyjal Summit (20) and Onyxia's Lair (40) open Dec 9. That gives you about five weeks of dungeons, quests, reputation and crafting to gear up.

Read this first: the beta stopped at level 30, so nobody has geared a level 60 Druid in Forever yet. The stat weights below come from community simulators running beta client data, and some of them use Classic's hit tables because Forever hasn't published its own. Treat the numbers as a starting point, not a final answer.

What Forever changed about gear (official)

From Blizzard's Deep Dive recap:

  • Hit and crit are each one stat now. Spell, melee and ranged hit chance are combined, and so are spell, melee and ranged crit. For a Druid, the same "+1% hit" helps your Starfire, your Shred and your Growl.
  • Bonus healing also gives one third as much bonus damage, so a Resto set still works for questing.
  • A new stat lowers the chance for your attacks to be dodged or parried. SixtySim calls it expertise.
  • Caster weapons now carry spell damage and healing.
  • Weapon skill items give less weapon skill, so they're no longer an automatic pick.
  • Every dungeon drop was re-examined. Hundreds of drops were added, unique boss items are now blue (rare) quality, and set bonuses were improved.
  • Trinkets lean on situational effects, such as bonuses against one creature type or in one kind of terrain (Woodlands, Mountains, Deserts).

Two Druid-specific changes from earlier beta notes, covered in our other guides, matter here too: in Cat and Bear Form your attacks use your weapon's DPS (1.0-second swings in Cat, 2.5-second swings in Bear), and weapon enchants and procs work in forms. So the weapon is a real stat for Feral now, not just a stat stick.

Stat priorities by role (level 60, simulated)

The weights come from SixtySim (updated Oct 19, pre-raid gear, a one-minute fight against one boss, beta data marked "unverified until level 60 opens"). Each number shows how much one point of a stat is worth compared with the main stat.

RoleGear for firstThenNotes
Cat (melee)Weapon DPSCrit (1% = 9.77 Agility), hit up to the cap (1% = 8.06 Agility), Strength (1.02) and Agility (1.00) about equalWeapon speed doesn't matter. Your paws swing every 1.0 sec whatever you hold.
Bear (tank)Stamina and armor (survival)For threat: crit (1% = 25.4 Agility), Strength (2.08), expertise (6.91 per point)SixtySim's threat weights give Stamina, dodge and defense no value, because avoided hits pay no Rage. Wear as much health as your healers want.
BalanceSpell damageHit (1% = 10.8 spell damage), crit (10.2), cast speed (9.56) all close. Arcane damage 0.67 a point, Nature 0.33Starfire and Moonfire are Arcane, so Arcane damage beats Nature damage on a single target.
RestorationHealing powerShort fights: crit (1% = 11.7 healing power). Long fights: MP5, Spirit and Intellect (each worth more than 1 healing power at 3 min)Haste is worth a lot in one-minute sims but drops below zero in three-minute single-target sims, because you run out of mana sooner.

Hit caps (Classic tables, unconfirmed)

SixtySim uses Classic's attack and spell tables because Forever hasn't published its own:

  • Melee (Cat and Bear): 8% hit against a level 63 boss. Nature's Reach gives 4% of that (per SixtySim). Past the cap, more hit does nothing. No Druid race gives hit in Forever.
  • Spells (Balance): a boss resists 17% of spells before hit, and at least 1% always gets through, so the cap is 16%. SixtySim's pre-raid Balance set only reaches 6%, so every point of hit counts.
  • Since hit is one shared stat now, a hybrid piece with "+1% hit" counts toward both caps.

Role notes

  • Cat: a white swing has one attack table, so past about 57% crit on your character sheet, extra crit stops adding white crits. Ability crits and bleed ticks roll separately and have no cap (SixtySim). Haste speeds up your swings but doesn't make Energy come back faster.
  • Bear: in Bear Form, Strength gives attack power and Agility doesn't. Agility only adds crit, dodge and armor. That's why SixtySim weights Strength at about twice Agility for threat. Wow4ever's tank weights put survival first instead: Defense 1.5, Dodge 1.2, Stamina 1, Agility 0.6. Use the threat list when your healer is comfortable and the survival list when they aren't.
  • Balance: Intellect is worth little per point in a one-minute boss fight (0.20), but more in long fights with several targets (up to 0.51). Innervate, mana potions and Reflection cover most mana problems in SixtySim's sims.
  • Restoration: with Reflection, half of your Spirit regeneration keeps going while you cast (SixtySim). Under Innervate, Spirit is worth five times as much. Pick by fight length: crit and healing power for short dungeon pulls, mana stats for long bosses.

Wildheart Raiment: the Druid dungeon set

Wildheart (the Druid "Tier 0" dungeon set) moved from 2/4/6/8-piece bonuses to bonuses at 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pieces, so every piece adds something. Beta client data (build 1.60.1.70532, per ForeverDiff and ForeverDB):

PiecesBonus
2+8 all resistances
3+30 attack power and up to +18 spell damage and healing
4When struck, 5% chance for +10% movement speed for 8 sec (60-sec cooldown per ForeverDB)
5Chance to restore 200 mana on spellcast, 20 Energy over 5 sec on melee attacks, or 10 Rage when hit by melee
6+8 mana per 5 sec

The 3- and 5-piece bonuses work in every form, so a few Wildheart pieces fit any spec. Remember that the item stats on each piece are hidden. RaidForever lists the Classic drop sources (Darkmaster Gandling, Scholomance: Cowl; Gizrul the Slavener, Lower Blackrock Spire: Spaulders; General Drakkisath, Upper Blackrock Spire: Vest; Baron Rivendare, Stratholme: Kilt; world drops for bracers, gloves and belt), but Blizzard hasn't confirmed Forever's drop sources.

Pre-raid lists: why they disagree

Two sites build Druid pre-raid lists automatically from beta data, and they hardly agree. For a Cat's two-hander, wow4ever picks Headmaster's Charge (Scholomance) and SixtySim picks The Unstoppable Force. RaidForever points out that several famous Classic pre-raid items, such as Hand of Justice and Truestrike Shoulders, aren't in Forever's game data at all, yet some generated lists still include them.

Here's why. Per Blizzard's interviews (as reported by WoW Classic Forever), there's no Dungeon Journal and you can't see an item's stats until it has dropped for you or on your server. Many listed items still use Classic stats until launch, and the loot from the new level 55–60 dungeons hasn't been revealed. So:

  • Use the lists to plan which dungeons to run, not as a final shopping list. Check each item's tooltip when it drops.
  • Compare upgrades with your role's weights from the table above. It's the same method these sites use.
  • Leatherworking keeps showing up on both sites' lists for Cat and Bear (for example Warbear Helm and Harness, Dawn Armor, Might of the Timbermaw). Blizzard says leatherworkers place a Tanning Rack at a campfire, which is required for more advanced Leatherworking recipes. Check the recipe stats in-game, because crafted items may also have been reworked.

Where to farm at 55–60

Blizzard's new endgame dungeons are Blackmaw Hold (55–60, Azshara) and Shaper's Terrace (58–60, Un'Goro Crater). Their loot hasn't been revealed yet. The Classic endgame dungeons are also in Forever: Blackrock Depths, Lower and Upper Blackrock Spire, Dire Maul, Scholomance and Stratholme (Icy Veins dungeon overview). Advanced campfire Blueprint recipes also drop from specific dungeon bosses (Blizzard).

A few practical tips:

  • Bring your role-switch kit. Druids have dual spec at 40, so keep a second set if you heal one run and tank the next. Bind-on-pickup green and blue dungeon drops give their appearance to everyone eligible, so nobody needs to roll on gear just for the look.
  • Prioritise a weapon if you're Feral. Since your paws use your weapon's DPS, a two-hand upgrade and a weapon enchant (procs like Crusader work in form) likely matter more than any armor piece (SixtySim, Blizzard deep-dive notes).
  • Balance and Resto: look for a caster weapon. Forever's caster weapons now carry spell damage and healing (Blizzard), so a staff is often your biggest single upgrade.

Still unclear

  • Forever's hit tables and boss level for raids. The caps above are Classic's.
  • Real item stats and drop sources, especially from the nine new dungeons.
  • Whether the Wildheart pieces still drop where they did in Classic.
  • How Bear survival stats compare once real raid damage is known. Both stat lists are simulated on beta data.
