Version 1.9.0 shipped on 4 October 2026, one day after 1.8.0, with 14 commits. It is the forums release: the "Folio" redesign of every forum page, and the fixes that had to land first. It folds in 1.8.1 from the same day.
The thread page
- A night head like the rulebook: the board path, a gilded title, the starter's card, the date, a read time, "Read by N members", the reply count, a Posted-to-Discord chip and one Manage menu.
- The opening picture as a full-width cover when it is a banner. The article in a reading measure with spaced headings, diamond rules, styled quotes, code and embeds, and a contents column that follows you as you scroll. Every heading gets its own link.
- Tabard cards on every post: avatar, display name in rank colour, Discord rank, game pills, team office, raid-team badges, the claimed main, and "In the Discord since". Guests see name, avatar, rank and games only.
- Icon reactions, Quote, "Replying to Name · #N", an inline composer with Preview, drafts that survive a refused submit, and a 60,000-character post cap.
Notifications and what is new
- Replies, quotes and new threads in the bell, folded into one entry per thread ("3 new replies in …") that opens the first unread post.
- A read floor: a newcomer sees only the last week as new. Mark all read moves it.
- The "Since you were last here" shelf: up to six threads with unread posts, each opening at the first one you have not seen.
- Watch a thread automatically when you start or reply to it. Unwatch stays unwatched. Follow a whole board.
The front page and the boards
- /forums opens on the night hero, the Since shelf, up to three staff articles as cover cards, and the board directory grouped by category and coloured by game. Quiet boards fold away.
- "Tonight" beside the hero: the public raid teams raiding in the next 24 hours, with "Raiding now".
- Boards get an interior banner, Follow, a pinned shelf, Latest / Newest / Unread sorts, an unread dot, and designed empty states.
- "Introduce yourself" opens the Introductions board with a three-line starter.
Safety
- Home's "Latest posts" never shows a post from a hidden board or thread, and board counts and last-post pointers ignore hidden and removed threads.
- Uploaded photos are stripped of EXIF, XMP, IPTC and comment metadata losslessly. A file that cannot be cleaned is refused. Attachments of hidden or deleted threads are no longer served.
- Suspended members can no longer react, vote or watch. Nobody can reply into a hidden or deleted thread.
- A poll is written in its thread's transaction, so a thread never goes up without the question it asked.
- The reply deadlock from 1.8.1 is fixed: two replies at once, or a reply beside a new thread, no longer collide.
