First Aid is much more important in Forever, because Healing Potions moved from Alchemy to First Aid. Anyone can make their own healing potions now. Bandages and the Triage quest work as before.
TL;DR: level on Minor Healing Potions or Linen bandages, buy the Under Wraps book at 150, and do Triage at 225. Every class should have this.
The basics in Forever
- Ranks: First Aid uses the same four ranks as Classic Era: Apprentice (75), Journeyman (150), Expert (225) and Artisan (300). The cap is still 300.
- Character level to train: Zockify lists Journeyman at level 10, Expert at 20 and Artisan at 35. SenseOS notes that the client files don't contain level requirements, so these numbers are unconfirmed until launch.
- Slots: First Aid is a secondary profession. It doesn't use one of your two primary slots.
- Unlearning: open the profession window (K) and click the red X. Your skill and every recipe you know are gone.
Leveling path by skill range
| Skill | Craft |
|---|---|
| 1–75 | Minor Healing Potion (Peacebloom, Mild Spices, Empty Vial), or Linen then Heavy Linen Bandage |
| 75–80 | Heavy Linen Bandage |
| 80–115 | Wool Bandage |
| 115–150 | Heavy Wool Bandage |
| 150 | Expert: the book Under Wraps from Deneb Walker (Stromgarde) or Balai Lok'Wein (Brackenwall Village). Buy the Heavy Silk and Mageweave bandage manuals while you're there |
| 150–180 | Silk Bandage |
| 180–210 | Heavy Silk Bandage |
| 210–240 | Mageweave Bandage ⚠️ |
| 225 | Artisan: the Triage quest from Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen (Theramore) or Doctor Gregory Victor (Hammerfall). Save 15 patients before 6 die. Requires level 35 and skill 225 ⚠️ |
| 240–260 | Heavy Mageweave Bandage ⚠️ |
| 260–290 | Runecloth Bandage ⚠️ |
| 290–300 | Heavy Runecloth Bandage ⚠️ |
⚠️ = above the level-30 beta. The level requirements come from Zockify and are unconfirmed.
Best class & profession pairings
- Every class should have it. Healing potions are now part of First Aid.
- Warriors and Rogues get the most out of bandages, since they have no self-heal.
- First Aid + Herbalism lets you supply your own Peacebloom for potions.
Your camp objects
Forever adds Camping. A cook places a Basic Campfire, and each player can add one profession object to it. A camp holds 3 objects, and the objects share a 1-hour cooldown. Sit at the camp for 1 minute and you become rested and pick up the buffs. Camp buffs don't stack with the class buffs they copy. You get the first object at skill 20. The more advanced objects come from Blueprints that drop from dungeon bosses.
First Aid objects: First Aid Kit (skill 20, Stamina), Plague Doctor's Laboratory, Toxin Study.
Legacy points
SenseOS's client data shows Legacy points coming only from crafting professions (at 150, 225 and 300). Gathering and secondary professions give none. Wowhead's wording is "each tradeskill", which disagrees, so treat this as unconfirmed until launch. The Professions Legacy tree still has perks that matter here: Bountiful Harvest, Bartering, Master Chef, Luremaster and others.
Gold tips
- Healing Potions should sell all the time, and this profession doesn't use a primary slot.
- Keep your cloth for bandages and sell the extra. Waylaid Crate: Textiles takes 40 Linen Cloth.
Common mistakes
- Looking for Healing Potions at an Alchemy trainer. They're First Aid recipes now.
- Skipping the Under Wraps book. You'll stall at 150 without it.
- Doing Triage carelessly. Six deaths and you have to start over.
FAQ
Can First Aid make Major Healing Potions? The healing potions moved as a set. Check your trainer to see which ones are taught at which skill.
Does First Aid give Legacy points? SenseOS says no. Wowhead's wording disagrees. See the Legacy section above.
