A staff reference for what Blizzard's API gives the site for WoW: Forever. It is not linked from anywhere, and only Officers and Leadership can open it. Last checked 2 November 2026.
Where things stand
- Realm list: open since 31 October. Blizzard's Forever realm list answered for the first time on 31 October at 09:27 UTC. The site checks once a day, so it noticed, switched Forever's roster sync on, and sent the "Battle.net API is live" notification to everyone who manages rosters.
- Characters and guilds: open, but empty. A character or guild lookup now answers "not found" instead of "not open yet". Nothing will be listed until the game launches and people play.
- Items, classes, races and the dungeon journal: still locked. Until they open, the site keeps using Classic Era's item data. It switches over on its own, so nobody needs to do anything.
- Launch: Wednesday 4 November, 3 pm PST.
How Forever realms work
Players don't pick a realm in Forever. They pick a ruleset: PvE, PvP, RP or RP-PvP. Each ruleset is one shared world, run on several numbered servers behind the scenes. Blizzard's API still files every character and guild under one of those servers, so the site needs the server's name, not the ruleset's.
Our ruleset is PvP (US). Its servers in the API:
- CAMWOW US1 Realm 2 PvP, US1 Realm 4 PvP, US1 Realm 6 PvP, US1 Realm 8 PvP
- CAMWOW US2 Realm 2 PvP, US2 Realm 4 PvP, US2 Realm 6 PvP, US2 Realm 8 PvP
- CAMWOW AU1 Realm 2 PvP (Oceania)
The other rulesets are numbered the same way: PvE on Realms 1, 3, 5 and 7, with RP and RP-PvP on Realms 9 to 11 (and 3 and 4 in Oceania). Europe has its own servers (EU4 and EU5). The entries named CSI, GMSS, Account, Web and Log are Blizzard's back-end services, not places anyone plays. Blizzard may rename all of these at launch.
Launch day: setting up the guild
- Make the guild in game.
- Give Blizzard time. A new guild can take a few hours to show up in the API, and members logging out helps.
- Find out which server it landed on. Typing "PvP" won't find anything. The site admin can check the eight US PvP servers in a minute.
- Go to Admin › Guild, then Find and sync: Game WoW: Forever, Region Americas, Realm the server's name, Guild the guild's name.
- Name the ranks in the Ranks table, and tick "Counts as raider" where it applies.
- After the first sync, tell members to press Re-check claims under Settings › Characters. Anyone who linked Battle.net before the guild synced won't get their Forever characters on their own.
If Blizzard still can't find the guild: use the "Add a guild by hand" form on the same page, which takes Forever again since build 673 (2 November). Add the guild there and load the roster by import. Use the server's name as the realm, the same one you'll give Find and sync later. Once Blizzard can see the guild, Find and sync with the same realm and guild name turns it into a synced guild. A different realm name would make a second guild instead.
Worth checking after launch
- Two-part names. Forever characters have a first and a last name, and the site stores up to 48 characters. Whether Blizzard's character lookup takes the name with its space (the site sends
malietho%20solin) can only be tested once characters appear. On 2 November, Malietho Solin (reserved on PvP) wasn't found on any of the 25 player servers in any spelling, which is normal before anyone has played. - Items. When Blizzard opens item data, the site picks it up within six hours. Items looked up before then keep Classic Era's version, because nothing refreshes them yet.
- Server names, in case Blizzard renames them.

On the site's side, the daily check (systematic-bnet-release-probe, about 09:17 UTC) stopped asking once Forever was switched on. On a 403, item lookups fall back to static-classic1x, and they try Forever's own data again every six hours.
